Please give a short description of the topic/cause for your Community Hub
The Node Operators Hub will provide approachable, consistent, and hands-on education around running Ethereum nodes and validators. Each day will focus on a core theme (such as minimal hardware setups, secure solo staking, client diversity, or low investment cost staking methods) and will showcase that theme throughout the day. This allows Devconnect attendees to drop in anytime and engage without needing to schedule around talks or workshops. It’s a calm, welcoming space for curious newcomers, seasoned operators, and everyone in between.
What will you offer to the Devcon attendees?
We’re creating a space where attendees can explore node operations in action, understand the why, ask questions, and get guidance. Whether they’re staking for the first time or looking to upgrade their current setup. The same key demos and support stations will be available throughout each day, making it easy to learn at your own pace. We’re building on what worked well at Devcon in Bangkok, while simplifying the flow for a drop-in friendly and repeatable experience.
Rough outline of Community Hub program
Daily Themes (e.g., “Minimal Home Setups,” “Client Diversity in Practice,” “Privacy-First Staking”)
Repeatable Content: Key demos and guided explanations revisited throughout the day
Ongoing Support Desk: Volunteers available for 1-on-1 help with node questions, validator advice, or setup troubleshooting
Discussion Space: Casual, unstructured space for conversations around decentralization in action, security, protocol tools, open source software, and operator best practices
Featured Setups: Hardware on display from Raspberry Pi nodes to higher-end home validators.
List the people who will organize, oversee and be responsible for the Community Hub
This Hub will be managed by a community cohort including and subject to updates:
Dappnode (Pol Lanski, Chuy Garcia): Creators of a network of decentralized infrastructure and maintain Free Open Source software to make it extremely simple to deploy and maintain Ethereum nodes and validators. Staunch defenders of decentralization and are constantly fighting to give Home Operators a voice and the tools they need to succeed.
Ethereum on ARM (Diego, Ferc): Pioneers on running full/archive nodes and validators in the most resource-constrained devices possible, enabling low-cost, energy-efficient and reliable setups.
Plus volunteers and node operators from across the Ethereum community
List the equipment or production needs (see what’s possible in the RFP)
4-5 tables with chairs for workshopping and peer support
A video screen (2 would be great so one can always show live node operations) for demos and explanations
Extra power outlets and reliable wired internet (ethernet cables preferred)
Headphones and microphones for high-noise times in the venue
Printed day schedules and QR codes for day schedule communications to attendees
Optional: QR-based feedback form for ongoing attendee input
Optional: An onsite static recording setup for capturing one demo per theme
Hey, I love this idea, how to help/join the effort?
It would be great to have hands-on workshops, and anything that would make it more accessible to first timers.
Commenting here as well to stay up to date and offer to contribute here! I’m doing some node operator activations in Argentina and Latam ahead of Devconnect and we could plug this in nicely.
Some more updates to share since first posting this:
SEED Org (Fei and Noa) has been added in the coordination of this and has outlined plans including. This group has a great network in Argentina to support this community hub. They will be able to help offer sessions in Spanish.
DVT cluster workshops from multiple technology options
Validator monitoring metrics workshops
Intro to nodes and validators for university students
Staking vault setup workshop
Node Operator workshops with liquid staking protocols
Solo staker perspectives and lessons learned
Open roundtables discussing current topics including things like the future of solo staking, challenges and solutions for node operators in the region, sharing real experiences from home stakers, and exploring opportunities for collaboration and education.
Equipment addendum:
Given the larger size, we would request more than the 4-5 tables, probably 10-15 depending on what is possible in the space as well as multiple video screens to have dual purposes going on at any given time.
Additionally we have lots of Hoodi ETH (testnet) we can give to attendees to test out setups and experience things and test staking onchain.
Daily Topics (Draft)
Day 1 (Nov 17): Getting Started with Nodes
Day 2 (Nov 18): Distributed Validator Tech (DVT)
Day 3 (Nov 19): Staking Vaults & Custody
Day 4 (Nov 20): Privacy, Security & Resilience
Day 5 (Nov 21): Community & Collaboration
Day 6 (Nov 22): Special interests and revisit top topics people want to discuss from across the week
Note: topics may be mixed, revisited, and bridged across / between days but the current thought is to have broad core themes per day.
Fei from SEED Org/Nodes here, great to see this proposal on the forum!
We’re excited to contribute to the Node Operators Hub at Devconnect Buenos Aires. Our main focus will probably be making the space inclusive in Spanish, so more of the local and regional community can participate, plus help with local logistics as needed.
Thank you for applying to organize a Community Hub for Devconnect ARG! Your proposal has now entered the voting phase.
In the coming days, the Devconnect team will review all submissions and select the ones that best reflect the spirit of the first Ethereum World’s Fair. Selected proposals will be announced during the week of September 8. After that, we’ll move into a collaborative phase to refine each Hub’s concept, programming, and production needs.
We appreciate your contribution to shaping the first Ethereum World’s Fair.
One additional element is that we welcome all client teams to be a part of this hub through it’s organization and execution of any sessions and daily support. There is a lot of expertise, great work, and unique angles each client team is building and it would be great to highlight those for attendees in a hands on way across the week.
Thank you for submitting your proposal for Community Hubs. As mentioned in our announcement post, your proposal has been selected to be part of the first Ethereum World’s Fair! Kudos
Your submission stood out for its diverse, collaborative approach and unique programming. We can’t wait to see your ideas come to life at Devconnect, and we’re here to support you along the way. As part of the selection process, I’ll be reaching out to coordinate a preparation sync, support new collaborations, share programming deadlines, and define production needs.
Congratulations once again, and thank you for your contributions to the first Ethereum World’s Fair!
Hey @mwjeth@OrnellaWeb3 ! We’re professional node operators based in Buenos Aires. We might be a bit late to the party, but we’d love to co-organize or join if there’s still a chance! We’ll have a dedicated team of 15 node engineers on site during Devconnect.
Hey @mwjeth, I’m Romi, I’m working with Nico. We couldn’t sent invitation on Discord, could you please contact us on tg to romidanura or discord to nico_sensei and romi.danura
