Dalal Street on Chain

Title: Dalal Street on Ethereum: The World’s First On-chain Trading Floor at Devcon Mumbai
Authors: ETO, Naman Bajpai (defibagholder), Ahyaan Sayed
Resources Required:
Small booth or open area, power outlets, 1–2 screens for live tickers, basic WiFi, table space for assisted onboarding, light ops support.

:brain: What do you suggest?

A pop-up, on-chain trading floor inspired by Mumbai’s Dalal Street where attendees can trade tokenized Indian RWAs (indices, gold, INR, real estate slices) on Ethereum in a live, gamified market.

:bullseye: Motivation & Rationale

How does this improve the attendee experience?
Gives Devcon a uniquely Mumbai experience: interactive, social, and hands-on. Attendees don’t just hear about RWAs, they trade them.

What Ethereum use case does it showcase?
Real-world asset tokenization, on-chain markets, instant settlement, identity via NFTs, and proof of participation — all in one place.

:hammer_and_wrench: Implementation

Have you done this before at another event?
We’ve built and demoed RWA + on-chain market infrastructure in hackathons and private demos, but this would be the first full IRL trading floor activation.

How will you make it happen?
Deploy smart contracts on an Ethereum L2, set up a mobile web app, issue Devcon ID NFTs, seed demo liquidity, and run live markets shown on a ticker screen.

:gear: Operational Requirements & Ownership

What’s needed to make this work at Devcon/nect?
Space for a small trading area, power, stable internet, and permission to onboard users and display live on-chain data.

Who will be responsible for operating it on-site?
Core team from ETO: Naman Bajpai and Ahyaan Sayed, plus 2–3 volunteers for onboarding and ops.

What other projects could this integrate with?
L2s (Base, Optimism, Arbitrum), wallets, oracle providers, PoP NFT tools, identity/ENS projects, and any RWA protocols.

Not a booth. A mini exchange floor.
