GM All!

I’m Matz, cofounder of Cryptex Finance, and I’d like to see and help organize a “World of DeFi” Community Hub at Devconnect Buenos Aires 2025.

Financial freedom and self-responsibility have never been more important globally. I believe everyone should have access to both simple and complex financial products that benefit themselves, their loved ones and their communities.

For this Community Hub, I envision:

  • Showcasing the latest DeFi applications and how they can contribute to Argentina’s growing blockchain ecosystem

  • Educational sessions teaching people how and why to use DeFi tools

  • Collaborative discussions about innovative financial products for future generations

If you’re interested in collaborating on this Community Hub, please comment here or reach out directly via:

Hey everyone!

My name is ian aka forestkeeperio. I’m super excited to share an idea for a Mobile-Focused Community Hub at Devconnect 2025 in Buenos Aires (November 17th–22nd). The vision is to create an interactive space dedicated to exploring and building mobile apps—specifically for iOS, Android, and potentially XR/AR devices—to drive crypto adoption. Mobile users represent a massive, untapped market in web3, and I believe this niche could skyrocket Ethereum’s reach, especially in regions like Argentina where mobile usage is already high.

Why Mobile Matters for Bringing Argentina Onchain

Argentina is a global leader in Ethereum adoption, with people using stablecoins and blockchain for everyday needs like savings and payments. Mobile devices are the primary gateway for most users, yet web3 development for mobile platforms remains underexplored. By focusing on mobile dapps, we can:

  • Boost Financial Inclusion: Deliver DeFi tools to unbanked populations via their phones.
  • Support Local Use Cases: Build apps for remittances or local commerce, key needs in Latin America.
  • Enhance Accessibility: Make Ethereum usable on the devices people already own.

This hub would be a space where developers, designers, and enthusiasts collaborate to unlock mobile’s potential for web3, aligning with Devconnect’s “Ethereum World’s Fair” theme of showcasing real-world value.

What I’m Envisioning for the Mobile Hub

Here’s a rough outline of what the hub could offer:

  • Workshops: Hands-on sessions on building mobile dapps with frameworks like React Native or Flutter, tackling challenges like secure key management and offline functionality.
  • Talks: Experts sharing insights on mobile wallet security, user experience, and optimizing for low-end devices.
  • Panel Discussions: Conversations on the future of mobile in web3, featuring local and global perspectives.
  • Demos: A “Mobile Dapp Showcase” where developers present live apps and get feedback from attendees.
  • Mini-Hackathon: A coding challenge focused on solving a mobile blockchain problem, with prizes to spark creativity.

Road to Devconnect: Mobil3 Mexico City Hackathon

As a pilot, I’m organizing a hybrid mobile-focused hackathon in Mexico City ahead of Devconnect. This event will target exclusively Spanish-speaking developers, focusing on mobile dapps for iOS, Android, and beyond. It’ll be a mix of in-person and online participation, designed to build momentum for the Buenos Aires hub. I’m finalizing details with sponsors and will share more soon—stay tuned! This could be a perfect warm-up, with incentives for participants to join us at Devconnect.

Let’s Collaborate!

This is still a work in progress, so I’d love your feedback and ideas. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Developers: Interested in building or demoing a mobile dapp? Let’s showcase your work!
  • Designers/Product Managers: Want to shape the UX of mobile web3? Join us!
  • Sponsors: Mobile wallet providers, blockchain platforms, or XR/AR innovators—let’s partner up!
  • Attendees: Curious about mobile blockchain? Come learn and network!

A potential name could be “Mobil3 Hub” or “Onchain Mobile Experience”—thoughts?

Next Steps

I’ll refine this proposal based on your input and Devconnect’s upcoming Community Hub guidelines. For now, please share:

  • What do you think of this idea?
  • Would you participate or collaborate?
  • Any suggestions to make it even better?

Let’s bring the power of mobile to Devconnect Argentina and help make Buenos Aires a blueprint for Ethereum adoption worldwide!

Looking forward to hearing from you, lets build this all together, feel free to reach out here or via mail to: forestkeeperio@pm.me

Hi everyone, I’d like to propose we initiate Ethereum-based, local, participatory budgeting campaigns in Buenos Aires and other cities.

We at Muqa have built Zazelenimo exactly for this purpose.

Example

In our pilot in city of Split, Croatia, the campaign is run by municipal parks company and funded by the city government.

How it works

Citizens join the platform, propose projects, create Ethereum account, top up their wallet and vote in quadratic funding round. App is open source, intended for being forked and customised and deployed locally.

Goals

The main goals of this project would be to:

  • onboard as many citizens and governments to Ethereum,
  • help them do their first interaction with a smart contract (donating or getting funded),
  • showcase how Ethereum is useful beyond financial speculation of crypto,
  • get local community involved with Devconnect.

The proposal

We would be happy to work with Devconnect team, local Ethereum community members and builders, local NGOs, citizens, governments, institutions and others on getting it set up and running in Argentina during Devconnect and beyond.

As we approach Devconnect, the app could be extended with additional complementary features and integrations, eg. give every citizen an ENS subdomain. Additionally, at Devconnect, we could have a showcase of proposals which currently being voted on, are already funded, or even executed.

I believe this proposal is a great fit because it shows the power of Ethereum, is focused on Argentina and can be tied well with Devconnect.

What would you like to see? Im still reaching out to experts and protocols with this focus on mind so I can create a more detailed proposal

I would like to propose the “Events Community Hub”.

I think we need to give IRL events the glory they deserve and organizing a specific hub at Devcon would be great for this purpose.
Ethereum has been the greatest in putting a strong community together and this has been achieved also thanks to events.

At this hub, we could exchange ideas and discuss about all thing events with informal sessions and games about:

  • how to create value
  • how to measure success
  • how to onboard newbies

This could be done by inviting all the stakeholders:

  • invite events organizers to give their overview and the “behind the scenes”
  • projects who sponsor events: what are they looking for?
  • attendees: what do they expect and why the love to join events?

The current naming can be confusing, but +1 on this idea

Gm Devconnect fam,

I’m Ceci Sakura, Marketing & Communications Lead at Unlock DAO and former Project Manager at Ethereum Bolivia. I’d like to propose using Unlock Protocol as the onchain infrastructure for ticketing, certifications, memberships, and subscriptions at Devconnect 2025 in Buenos Aires.

As someone who led a local community with multiple Web3 events—including the second Ethereum Bolivia Buildathon, the biggest blockchain based buildathon in Bolivia—I’ve used Unlock Protocol extensively over the past two years to manage all access and credentialing needs. We issued NFT tickets to attendees (many of them total newcomers to Web3) and NFT-based certifications for hackers and contributors, all directly from our Unlock smart contracts.

Why did we choose Unlock?
Because it gave us full control and onchain transparency while remaining incredibly easy to use. Unlock allows us to:

  • Customize NFTs with personal data or any other that we would like to show (like names or nicknames) for each certificate.
  • Display those NFTs in wallets and marketplaces like OpenSea.
  • Airdrop credentials via email-only access, which makes onboarding simple—even for non-crypto-native users.
  • Track our event’s impact directly via Unlock Dashboards, with verifiable, onchain metrics for stakeholders and sponsors.

Now that I started working with Unlock DAO directly, I’ve seen firsthand how many other communities, DAOs, and event organizers are using it to run their operations permissionlessly, without giving up sovereignty or user data to centralized platforms.

If we want Devconnect 2025 to truly be the onchain event of the year, I believe Unlock Protocol can be a core tool to support that vision—from credentialing and community membership, to real-time data capture and transparent reporting.

I’m happy to support the implementation from all angles, including local coordination, onboarding, customization, and visibility—so Devconnect can become a model for permissionless event infrastructure in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Let’s make this happen :purple_heart:
— Ceci Sakura

PD.: Check out this proposal made by Stella Achenback, Lead Steward at Unlock Protocol DAO. :grinning:

Hey, I’m building a tool I think could be relevant for the Ethereum Worlds Fair. DappRank is a website that measures and ranks dapps based on their censorship resistance. It serves as a demonstration of what dapps are out there in the Ethereum ecosystem and as a way for attendees to learn about how secure those applications actually are.

Proposal for Onchain Art Hub at Devconnect

GM Devconnect fam

Kismet Casa, Newtro and MúsicaW3 would like to organize an Onchain Art Hub at Devconnect.

Summary
Onchain Art Hub is Devconnect’s artist focused community hub.

The proliferation of onchain art as a medium has profoundly impacted the global art scene, with notable influence in Latam, particularly in Argentina. Argentinian artists have been the first to embrace onchain technologies for its ability to connect them directly to a worldwide market, circumventing traditional middlemen, and ultimately establishing a more trustworthy system to distribute their work. This adoption mirrors the broader Argentine embrace of cryptocurrencies, primarily motivated by the search for alternative access to the global economy.

Rationale

The proposed Onchain Art Hub aims to underscore and celebrate the significant contributions of both Argentinian artists and artists from around the world to Ethereum culture. The hub will serve as a focal point for gathering diverse communities from across the globe, enhancing visibility for these artists and reinforcing their role as key cultural innovators within the Ethereum ecosystem.

The Onchain Art Hub will be a home for musicians, painters, designers, digital artists, sculptors, and creatives of all kinds. We represent a collective of Argentina-based art communities dedicated to supporting all artists and art collectives attending Devconnect. The teams involved in this proposal are committed to acting as facilitators for interested parties and to sharing our collaborative spirit with artists, projects, and communities from all over the world who wish to inhabit the Onchain Art Hub.

We want this space to be welcoming to everyone, a space where all voices can be heard and a place to share first-hand experiences of what it means to be an onchain culture creator.

Audience

There have been countless hubs artists used to create together throughout history. If we want to usher in a new digital renaissance we have to reinvent the artist commons in a way that is accessible to all but responsible in quality. We aim to reach developers, engineers, architects, local art related institutions and people from all backgrounds and professions to enable the cross-discipline collaboration that produces real innovation. Our goal is not only to reach artists and art enjoyers, but to showcase to our beloved crypto community how important Ethereum is to artists in Argentina and around the world.
