Builder Blind Dates @ DevCon Proposal
What is Builder Blind Dates?
Builder Blind Dates is a developer game show. Each episodes starts with X number of builders who each pick 1 Web3 protocol or project they never built with. Each of these protocols are put on a spinning wheel and whichever one it lands on, the builders create a small project with.
We then have a judge choose which project is the most impressive. In a previous episode, we have incoporated onchain voting via Jokerace as a “Community Vote”.
Goals
- Exposing more builders to try and create projects on a diverse set of protocols.
- Show what cool and interesting ideas can be made in short of time.
- Inspire the community to be more curious

In-Person Proposed Setup
Format
At the start of Devcon, the participant teams would announce their chosen protocol and spin the wheel.
During the duration of Devcon, each team would build out their projects on the winning protocol.
To make this more Devcon focus, putting a constraint that their project must contribute or be connected to a social, financial, govermental issue.
Option: Some sort of midway checkin to see how teams are doing, audience feedback etc.
Near the end of Devcon, each team will present their project to a panel of judges as well as open up to an onchcain vote.

2-3 Developers
If we can get some local builders involved that would be ideal
Timelines
10-15 Mins - Announcing the chosen protocols / Spinning the Wheel

20-30 Mins - Presentation of projects to judges and public
Potential Challenges
- Participants - the schedule is busy for Devcon, finding and making sure the teams have enough time to build. Making sure scope of projects is focused will be helpful here.
