Hey all I’d like to propose a SEA community hub focused more on community for Devcon. Sharing below the details about it

INTRODUCTION

With Devcon coming to Southeast Asia we are introducing a SEA community hub to showcase culture, builder highlights and community collaboration across the existing Ethereum communities within the region. This will also be a station presenting visitors what SEA has achieved on building in Ethereum, identifying opportunities for cross collaboration globally

WHAT WILL YOU OFFER TO THE ATTENDEES?

We will offer a blend of culture and tech presenting what ETH SEA has achieved, what is currently pursuing and what to look forward to. We plan to do an interactive map of SEA as well to display various builders and projects that were founded in SEA as well as various community meet-ups, hackathons, events, etc. Merch and goodies will also be available

ADD A ROUGH OUTLINE OF YOUR COMMUNITY HUBS PROGRAM

Entering the SEA community hub is an interactive map showcasing various SEA grown projects, builders, events, and communities.

A country desk will also be included to position goodies/giveaways from various countries such as keychains, artifacts and travel cards with a QR code. The QR directs you to the website of the ETH community specific to that travel card region.

Vertical walls will be in place to pin up pamphlets and brochures from SEA projects to give awareness.

like the part of showcasing builders and products from sea region: long time overlooked generally. We don’t hear them often. Even tho there are some amazing products, e.g. etherscan.

Would be nice if can have more history/cultural presentation part besides showing different countries: educational for ppl who’s not familiar w/ the region culturally

Ah this is a good point. We could definitely incorporate this in with the support of the other ETH communities in SEA

  1. Submit a DIP: To confirm your commitment, please submit a DIP in our DIP repository. This helps us track all community initiatives, and your Hub will be featured in the DIPs section of the Devcon website. Please tag proposal with ‘Community Hub’. Here’s an example from last year.
  2. Production details: We’ll collaborate with our production team to prepare a manual covering all the logistics for your space. Expect it within the next week or two.
  3. Program planning: We’ll work with you to refine your program and offer feedback to help create an amazing experience for Devcon attendees.
  4. Communication channels: We’ll set up the necessary channels to stay in touch from now until the end of Devcon.
