This is a great idea. I would be supportive if the LatAm representation was more diverse than EthKipu. We have lots of communities outisde of the Kipu umbrella doing amazing work, they should also be represented if we have LatAm participation.
Thanks for the invitation!
ETHā¢CO will gladly participate on the GM Community Hub at least with:
-
Caring the EthTorch during Devcon, sharing some Colombian coffee & the EthTorch swag.
-
Facilitating a space for exchange & co-creation of the Latinx communities based on caring, sharing knowledge & experiences.
In representation of Space4Build, weĀ“ll going to be open to participate and collaborate.
We will be representing various web3 solution builders from Latin America and serving as a communication bridge between people who cannot attend the event and all those people who want to expand their presence in our region. LetĀ“s go to continue building and amazing ecosystem =)

Great initiative! Itās nice to have a meeting point to spark conversation, debate, and creativity. Iām Candela from SEED Latam, and as a team leader, Iām really excited to support and be part of this effort.
Iād love to use this space to strengthen ties with leaders from Latin America and connect with communities from around the world.
Itās awesome to have a space in the venue to bring together leaders from different communities and share experiences across regions. Count on us!
Buenos dias @songyi and @ligi,
This is William from ethcolombia.org.
To keep and share some values and feelings with the proposal of ETH Torch proposed from ETHColombia and trying to create magical moments on DEVCON VII with this Amazing Global Majority (GM) Hub, I would like to propose the following:
I believe itās a wonderful idea to pay tribute to someone as brave and dedicated as Emerson Silva, who committed his life to educating and spreading knowledge about Ethereum in a challenging region like Arauca. He was part of the local community ETHArauca, and his efforts and sacrifices enriched the area, leaving a lasting legacy of courage, passion, and dedication to education about Ethereum and WEB3. A tribute to his memory is not only fitting but necessary.
We are working with @AndresForigua.eth to craft a message that honors his bravery and commitment for onboarding the NEXT BILLION and for caring the infinite Garden in Colombia.
Moreover, we want to emphasize how Ethereum technology can positively impact security and social issues in our GM community countries across LATAM, Africa, and Asia. By fostering a new generation of projects and communities, we can work towards eradicating these unfortunate conditions and building a better future.
GM, GM!
Jumping inā¦
First, congrats all for the much-needed approach and structure the team has prepared. We want to introduce ourselves, support the initiative, and make ourselves available to contribute.
WHO ARE WE
CeLatam was born from an onchain governance proposal on Celo Community to foster Web3 initiatives in Latin America. Since 2023,
WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR
So far, between 2023 and 2024 among others we highlight:
-
Launch and conclusion of Celo Incuba 3rd Batch an incubator program, with 6 successful incubated startups. Read the report with results and learnings here.
-
Supported three Web3 hackathons in LatAm.
-
Launched three small-grants programs:
-
The NFTs conquest, where we selected a LatAm artist to create an NFT to reward Celo Incuba participants;
-
Meet-ups Grants, funding side-events to address ReFi and Celo aligned with large Ethereum events in LatAm, and;
-
Research Grants, where we selected three teams to conduct research on key aspects of Web3 in Latin America: Stablecoins, Real World Assets (RWA), and Regenerative Finance (ReFi).
-
Launched our Theory of Change, consolidating our vision regarding impact capital allocation.
Learn more about CeLatamās activities and achievements in our reports: Season 0 (2023) and Season 1 (1st semester of 2024).
OUR CURRENT OBSESSION
We are concentrating our efforts under a āventure studioā approach. Our two first work streams are (1) as a result of the Research Grants, we will now publish a collaborative research about RWA, Stablecoins, and Capital Allocation and (2) a Public Goods approach to unlock diverse sources of capital, by ensuring transparent, accountable, and efficient fund management and disbursement. It combines real-world use cases, an already tested framework, novelty in tech and narrative, and can serve all the current mechanisms without competing.
We aim at contributing to reshape the landscape of impact capital allocation by merging traditional financeās volume and compliance frameworks with the radical transparency and programmability of web3. At Celatam, weāre very excited to share our vision about it as a tool that potentially for it to become our shared movementā¦. Maybe the #BlendedFi ecosystem?
Happy to discuss and see how this syncs with GM focus and efforts!
