:unicorn: Back by popular demand…

The tabletop corner was a big hit at Devcon 2024 - let’s run it back in ARG :sunglasses::argentina::unicorn:

:zap:tl;dr the Devcon tabletop area was a blast and I’d love your input on how to shape it for Devconnect. Got games you want to share? Maybe a game you made (looking at you Nouns community:eyes:). This pitch is v0; so drop your comments and ideas and let’s make this awesome.

Why Tabletop?

Conference fatigue? Not on our watch! We’re bringing attendees together for meaningful moments of connection through the magic of games. Our previous activations at Devcon and EDCON were a massive hit, with players of all ages spending hours engaged in friendly competition and collaboration.

The Gameplan

  • Daily Tabletop Events: 2-5 PM, offering a wide variety of engaging games
  • Game Masters on Duty: I’ll be there explaining rules, welcoming new players, and keeping the good vibes rolling
  • Epic Loot: Fun prizes for raffle winners and tournament champions

The Collaborative Quest (Proposal)

:golf: This pitch is v0!

As of now, I’m planning to bring a game I created called Memethology. It’s a trading card game about decentralization and crypto lore (find out more here).

But I would LOVE to offer more games. Last year we collaborated with Nerd (the legendary Farcaster /tabletop host). Sadly he can’t join us this year, but I’d love to have people bring games they enjoy or have made.

  1. Where: we were in the “Playground Space” at Devcon. Where should we be this year? High traffic areas are best.
  2. What: 2-3 tables with chairs for epic gameplay sessions (more space if collaborating with other tabletop games)
  3. Schedule Integration: Add our events to the official Devconnect schedule so attendees can plan their gaming adventures
  4. Accommodations Support: Memethology is a labor of love - fully bootstrapped. A boost of $1000 would allow me to get accommodations and materials like playmats and signage.

Join me in making tabletop gaming an enriching part of Devcon for years to come. Let’s level up networking, deepen connections, and support the growth of decentralized communities!

Let me know your ideas and feedback!
