The DAOist's Contributor Hub Proposal

Please give a short description of the topic/cause for your Community Hub

At The DAOist we’ve long been touting the idea that although DAOs are great innovative tools, it’s the people that govern them that stand in between the possible doom and gloom of painful collaboration or true decentralised thriving.

At first glance, the notion might seem feel-good-fluff, but it actually carries existential weight: Alongside the technical capabilities of our interfaces and smart contracts, we need to develop the DAOists themselves - and facilitate the sharing of learnings and opportunities.

Sophisticating our collective sensemaking around the felt experience of coordinating in flatter than taller social designs is easier said than done. The DAOist Talent Hub will be dedicated to facilitating the assimilation, sharing and consolidation of the counter-intuitive and delicate perceptions of those who have been in the frontlines for the first years of this nascent ecosystem.

A space for DAOists to talk face to face and speak from the heart.

Educational panels and open conversations will act as springboard for creating actual good fits, expectation alignment and contextually relevant on-boarding for the attendees of Devcon Bogotá. in the hopes that those might turn into direct contribution opportunities for existing DAOs or the birth of better guided new ones.

What will you offer to the Devcon attendees?

Final mechanics are still to be designed, but what can be expected is an experience focused around: Education + Professional Speed Dating + Talent Fair as a scaffold for powerful conversations that will be documented and harvested and turned into content / articles and further developed via The DAOist events and channels, as usual.

Add a rough outline of your Community Hubs program

It’s highly dependent on infrastructure but:
Intimate round tables with industry leaders sharing experiences from a personal perspective, including recruiters, team leaders, DAO maxis and other luminaries with the focus on cross pollination. Sprinkled in the time-line would be interactive opportunities for connection and get to know, while open work opportunities in DAOs would be on display.

List the people who will organise, oversee and be responsible for the Community Hub

Elco, Founder of The DAOist, Max Up, Found of Tr3butor and their respective teams attending Devcon.

List the equipment or production needs (see what’s possible in the RFP)

Tables and chairs within a certain degree of privacy and sound protection, Booths (not too many) and whiteboards and if possible, some screens.

Hi there,

We would like to thank you for putting together this proposal!

The space allocated to Community Hubs is limited which means we can only accept six proposals.

Many of the proposals we received were very high quality and, unfortunately, we had to take hard decisions. There is simply not enough space to accommodate all of them.

With this post, I’d like to inform you that your proposal was not selected for this year’s Community space.

Again, thank you for showing initiative to contribute to the Devcon Bogotá experience and we hope to see you there soon nonetheless.

Have a great day,

Franziska & the Devcon team
