Resources Required: (space, power, operations support, etc.)
Full production backline, rented instruments, and one or two sound engineers from the providing production team. A space that is open and inviting, often being well situated near a chill lounge or food court.
What do you suggest?
_ We would love to Co-Host a live music space with Devconnect open to the whole community to participate just as we did in Bogota and Bangkok. Honoring the tradition of gathering the musicians in Ethereum and sharing the spotlight.
Motivation & Rationale
- How does this improve the attendee experience?
Music is the heartbeat of community. When we play together the positive vibration gets stronger. Attendees can not only enjoy the space but openly participate. - What Ethereum use case does it showcase? We are a beautiful metaphor for the power of Open-Source technology and decentralization. Music as a base layer protocol and language being shared and expanded upon collaboratively can encourage our ecosystem to take a similar copy left approach to co creation and collaboration.
Implementation
- Have you done this before at another event?
We have collaborated with the Devcon team in Bogota and Bankok, as well as self-hosting music at the last two Devconnects. This would be the first dedicated music space at Devconnect. - How will you make it happen?
Collabrate with Devconnect production on all details, encourage open collaboration, and have members of the Open-Source Orchestra present at all times to insure positive execution and quality production.
Operational Requirements & Ownership
- What’s needed to make this work at Devcon/nect?
We would rely on the Production team to provide backline, rented instruments, and provide one or two sound engineers from the production provider. - Who will be responsible for running it on site?
The Open Source Orchestra can facilate open collaboration and a positive vibration. We can work with the production providor as stage managers and facilitate the open participation within the community. - What other projects could this integrate with?
All musicians and artists looking for a space to create and share. We would love to highlight this space on the website and lemonade.Social hubs. A dapp or dapps featuring all artists who participate would be cool.

OPEN SOURCE ORCHESTRA DIPs
Devcon and Devconnect have been the main incubators that have given the creators of the Open-Source Orchestra the space to create and motivation to bring this tradition all over the place. Open-Source Orchestra is the simple tradition of gathering the artists and musicians in Ethereum. We encourage collaboration and a shared spotlight as this space is open for any who wish to participate and co-create.
We propose that like the last two Devcons, we collaborate with the Devcon team and main production providers to create a music space with full backline and instruments for Devconnect in Argentina. Previous Devconnects have featured a closing ceremony performance with Justin Holmes and Shaka in Amsterdam, and an open music jam in the main lobby of the Co-Work in Istanbul. This would be the first Devconnect with an official music space like the last two Devcons. This is the perfect opportunity to do so with the World Fair in Buenos Aires. We know the Devcon team would know the best location for this and has access to the best production. We can provide a wish-list of instruments, DJ deck, and backline. We will focus heavily on gathering the community in collaboration and make space for all who wish to have participation. We can operate as coordinators and stage managers but would love to have the production team providing the equipment also provide one or two sound engineers to support us.
Working with the Crecimiento team we would love to connect and onboard as many local musicians and artists as we can. In their main Co-working hub, we would look to activate a weekly gathering of creatives to help stir the creative momentum in the months leading up to Devconnect.
A handful of selected headliner performances and DJ sets would be great to include in this space. I do believe there is magic to the open and permissionless jams, but some DJ sets and featured artists may desire to have more solitude and control of the performance which would also be welcomed in more specific times.
Overall, we trust the magic of spontaneous serendipity and collaborative creativity. The Open-Source Orchestra has multiple members who can be present throughout the entirety of the spaces activation to not only keep the rhythm and groove but also be stage managers and welcome all who want to be included.
I would love to see Open-Source technology play a role in this as we have tested in past years with guilds and dapps. Perhaps we can add ways of supporting all the artist who participate by promoting their work, focusing on the promoting more than scheduling.
To gather all interest parties a google form can be released asap. We would love to see a committee of dedicated artist join in collaboratively planning and operating this space.
