Devcon 8 is heading to India ![]()
But where should Devcon go next? ![]()
Devcon’s journey has taken the event to many places around the world. Each location has brought something unique to the developer conference and to the Ethereum ecosystem.
Why does Devcon’s location change each year?
- To introduce the global Ethereum ecosystem to new or growing communities
- To give local Ethereum communities access to more frequent or long-term participants
- Devcon has the potential to catalyze the growth of newer Ethereum communities
- To give focus to regions where Ethereum can have the most impact today
Where should Devcon go next?
Choosing the next home for Devcon is always a deliberate process. To make this decision well, we involve the community. ![]()
While the final decision ultimately stays with the Devcon team, community proposals like the one for Devconnect Argentina have been one of the strongest signals helping us understand Ethereum ecosystems around the world.
This is why we’re opening the field again.
We invite the community to propose countries and cities for the next Devcon.
Deadline for proposals: March 15
Key criteria for Devcon locations
There is no single deciding factor, but strong proposals address many of the following.
Region and country considerations
- Past presence of Devcon or Devconnect in the region
- Local Ethereum and developer community: size, activity, maturity, and growth potential
- Potential impact of hosting Devcon in the region
- Visa accessibility for a global audience
- Safety and political risk
- Political stability and respected civil liberties
- Government stance or support, where relevant
City and logistics considerations
- Venue capacity suitable for ~15,000–20,000 attendees
- Infrastructure: venue quality, hotels, internet reliability
- Accessibility: international airport access, ease of movement within the city and region
- Local service providers: production agencies, catering, event services
- Healthcare system adequacy
- Weather conditions during Q4
- Overall cost (for attendees and for production)
How to submit your proposal

If your country or city has been proposed before, you’re welcome to add to an existing thread.
-
If your location represents a stronger case today, we want to hear it. Ethereum ecosystems evolve, new communities form, and regional use cases mature.
-
Include links, data points, visuals, maps, and references where possible.
-
Invite others to comment, contribute, and add perspective.
We’re looking forward to seeing how communities envision the next chapter of Devcon.
