Hello everyone, exciting proposal!
I’d like to share a quick reflection — it’s a bit bittersweet that EthCali.org wasn’t included in this initial proposal from Colombia. Perhaps it’s a sign that we need to better broadcast the work being done in our city and reaffirm our deep commitment to Ethereum and its mission in the region.
That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to what EthCali has achieved as a grassroots Ethereum community since Devcon VI in 2022:
+350 normies onboarded,
+40 meetups,
+3 Web3 hackathons,
+50 active hackers,
+10 local venues,
and now — launching official Web3 courses in partnership with 5 top universities in Cali.
They’re spreading Ethereum’s values deep into the roots of Cali, Colombia — la capital mundial de la salsa, now also building on Ethereum.
We’re fully open to supporting this mission in any way. In fact, this Saturday, August 9, we’re hosting Destino Devconnect la surcursal del cielo at Zonamerica.com, and we’d love to invite attendees to discover how they can contribute to this collective effort.
Also, as the leader of Ekinoxis.com, an open-source research and development lab focused on emerging technologies for Colombia, I’m personally excited to explore how we can contribute to this amazing initiative.
