Summary of Proposal
The EIP Hub is a four-day collaborative space dedicated to Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), ERC standards, protocol upgrades, and standards adoption. Bringing together contributors from across the Ethereum ecosystem, it combines technical discussions, office hours, and community engagement to support the development, implementation, and adoption of open standards that advance the world’s largest decentralized ecosystem.
Motivation & Rationale
Ethereum is built on a collaborative model where ideas are openly proposed, discussed, refined through “rough consensus”, and implemented by independent teams. As the ecosystem grows, meaningful collaboration increasingly spans protocol researchers, client teams, standards authors, application developers, tooling projects, enterprises, educators, and new contributors. While these groups contribute to the same ecosystem, opportunities for in-person meet & collaboration remain limited.
By bringing together diverse perspectives in an open, inclusive, and credibly neutral setting, the EIP Hub reinforces Ethereum’s core values of permissionless, transparency, decentralization, and community-driven governance.

Why an EIP Hub?
Ethereum has many excellent technical talks. What it lacks is a place where contributors can spend time discussing & understanding the process of building standards.
The EIP Hub becomes:
- an education center
- a contributor onboarding space
- an editor office
- a protocol collaboration room
- an ERC showcase
- an enterprise standards forum
The EIP Hub remains active throughout Devcon, providing a space for contributors to exchange ideas, review proposals, and learn more about Ethereum standards. Participants can explore network upgrade proposals, discuss protocol evolution, share implementation experiences, identify emerging ecosystem needs, and contribute to interoperable, privacy-preserving standards.
Implementation
The hub requires a flexible collaboration space. In addition to the standard facilities provided by Devcon, the hub would benefit from:
- Seating for discussion groups
- Large display screens to showcase live EIPsInsight dashboards and demonstrations
- Whiteboards or writable collaboration boards
- Livestream and recording capability for selected sessions
- Wireless microphones for talks and discussions
- Flexible workshop tables and seating arrangements
- Reliable high-speed Wi-Fi
- Sufficient power outlets for participants and demonstrations
Throughout Devcon the hub will continuously display - Upgrade Dashboard, Meta EIP status, Protocol roadmap, EIP lifecycle visualization.
Programming
The EIP Hub is designed around three core experiences - Explore, Innovate, and Participate. Each day follows a distinct theme, guiding attendees through the different Ethereum standards: Understanding EIPs & Governance, Protocol & Core Ethereum, Application Standards, and Enterprise Adoption. Together, these themes provide a structured yet flexible journey, enabling participants to discover new standards, include in hackathon projects, engage with experts, and contribute to Ethereum’s open and permissionless ecosystem.
- EIP Process & Governance: Introduction to EIPs, lifecycle (Status vs. Stage), governance, documentation, GitHub workflows, writing your first EIP, contributor onboarding, EIP Office Hours, and Meet the Editors.
- Protocol & Core Ethereum: Ethereum roadmap, protocol upgrades, Meta EIPs, Glamsterdam & Hegotá, devnets, client implementation updates, upgrade coordination, testing, interoperability, protocol tooling, and governance discussions.
- Application Standards & ERCs: Latest ERCs (including ERC-7935, ERC-8004, Chain ID, and wallet standards), reference implementations, smart contract security, tooling, ERC review clinics, and builder networking.
- Enterprise Ethereum: Standards adoption, interoperability, real-world implementations, enterprise architecture, compliance, governance, enterprise tooling, roundtables, and Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) collaboration.
- Open Collaboration & Tooling: EIPsInsight demonstrations, protocol dashboards, specification workshops, author mentoring, office hours, community networking, and collaborative discussions between researchers, client teams, developers, editors, enterprises, and educators.

Audience
The EIP Hub welcomes anyone interested in shaping Ethereum.
Including:
- First-time EIP author
- Protocol researchers
- Client developers
- Smart contract developers
- ERC authors
- Wallet developers
- Infrastructure teams
- Enterprise architects
- Educators
- Students
- Open-source maintainers
Special focus will be placed on onboarding contributors from India and the wider APAC region into Ethereum’s standards ecosystem.
Team
The primary point of contact for the EIP Hub will be the ECH Institute team.
Programming and community coordination will be delivered in collaboration with ecosystem projects and contributors with extensive experience in Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), protocol upgrade coordination, Ethereum education, enterprise adoption, open-source tooling, client implementation, and standards development.
By bringing together protocol researchers, client teams, standards authors, tooling projects, enterprises, and community contributors, the EIP Hub aims to become the collaborative home for Ethereum standards at Devcon 8 India.
