Introduction
We are pleased to announce the 14 selected Community Hubs for Devcon 8 India, chosen from a total of 32 proposals submitted to RFP-13 – the highest number of submissions for any Devcon yet! 
A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to prepare, discuss, and coordinate in order to build each proposal.
Community Hubs will host programming across all four days in Mumbai, from research and security to onchain art, agents, and grassroots India builder communities. Each one adds its own dimension to Devcon, creating unforgettable spaces to learn, build, and connect! 
What are Community Hubs?
Community Hubs are dedicated spaces where selected communities bring a specific Ethereum topic to life. They are curated and, to some extent, independently organized by community groups with expertise in the chosen topic.
By designing and hosting their own programming, Community Hubs help shape the overall Devcon experience, making it more decentralized, inclusive, and grounded in Ethereum’s community spirit.
Most importantly, these spaces must not promote any single project or initiative through branding or marketing; they must remain strictly educational.
Preview of Accepted Community Hubs
The following hubs stood out for their complementary focus, proposed programming, community representation, and commitment to hosting activities across all four days of Devcon.
A gathering space for people building, exploring, and using privacy on Ethereum and around it, not just inside the chain. The Privacy Hub connects onchain privacy tooling with the offchain layers that quietly determine whether that privacy actually holds (RPC providers, wallets, web UIs, indexers, analytics), and with newer frontiers like private banking rails and the human layer of the AI economy.
Ethereum lost over $1 billion to hacks in the first half of 2026 alone, across more than 200 separate incidents. Behind those numbers are organized state-sponsored groups like North Korea’s Lazarus, professionalized scam operations, and infrastructure failures that erode trust in the entire ecosystem. Security is not a niche technical concern, it’s existential to Ethereum’s credibility as a financial system.
A collaborative space dedicated to Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), ERC standards, protocol upgrades, and standards adoption. Bringing together contributors from across the Ethereum ecosystem, it combines technical discussions, office hours, and community engagement to support the development, implementation, and adoption of open standards that advance the world’s largest decentralized ecosystem.
A vendor-neutral home for the people who build and maintain Ethereum’s networking layer. Over four days, communities and teams across libp2p, devp2p, client implementations, research, and privacy networking will run workshops, protocol teardowns, and open debugging sessions on the discovery, broadcast, transport protocols and more that power Ethereum’s execution and consensus layers.
With a focus on the intersection of Ethereum security and P2P networking, this hub explores how information can leak across communication layers even when applications and smart contracts are designed with strong security assumptions. Participants will learn how to identify, measure, reproduce, and mitigate network-level and cross-layer leakage to create more resilient networks.
Merges with the Legal Tech & Digital Rights proposal. Discussions on ownership, access, cashflow & voting rights across fungible tokens, NFTs & RWAs. CROPS in action at the stakeholder layer, plus the place where Ethereum builders meet India’s legal-tech, ODR, and digital-rights communities to explore how open technology can make justice systems more accountable, private, and accessible through panels, workshops, and open discussion.
Merges with the Open Source Hub proposal. A hands-on space that turns attendees from passive observers into active open-source contributors. Participants walk out with a merged pull request, a funding roadmap, or a new partnership with a maintainer. The hub is designed to make open source contributions visible, approachable, and accessible, particularly for developers and newcomers who may not yet have a clear entry point into the ecosystem.
This community hub will unite prediction-market builders, researchers, traders, and governance contributors to discuss liquidity, market design, resolution, futarchy, and applications. Led by experienced organizers and six confirmed participating teams (with more welcome to join!). It offers deep dives, open discussions, demos, office hours, and networking sessions for those interested in all things prediction markets.
The place where open science meets Ethereum. Building on our Hubs at Devcon Bangkok (2024) and Devconnect Argentina (2025), it brings decentralized science to India: a four-day space for scientists, builders and funders to connect, onboard and co-create tools that turn research into a public good.
Devcon’s artist-focused community hub. A home for musicians, painters, designers, and digital artists to show why Ethereum matters to their work, and to connect local and global creative communities.
AI agents are already paying, trading, and negotiating on Ethereum. The Agents Hub gathers the communities behind the open agent stack — ERC-8004, x402, account abstraction, agent security — for hands-on education on safe agent permissions, stablecoin payments, and real-world use cases, plus fun live agent competitions anyone can join.
Ethereum is fragmented, technically and socially. 70+ live rollups behave like separate countries, and nobody can say which teams are alive, where to deploy, or what is stranded inside the projects that quietly stopped. The Fragmentation Hub maps that reality in public and makes the case for coordination without uniformity.
Bringing together founders of Zuzalu-aligned permanent hubs and pop-up cities to share practical experience, strengthen collaboration, and showcase communities experimenting as long-term governance sandboxes
India Hub
Merge of Developers Katta and Bhasha CROPS proposals. A four-day builder’s corner where each day takes one of Ethereum’s core properties, censorship-resistance, open source, privacy, security, and teaches it by building it, with problem statements drawn from Indian practice.
