Proposal for Onchain Art Hub at Devcon Mumbai
Summary
Onchain Art Hub is Devcon’s artist focused community hub.
The proliferation of onchain art as a medium has profoundly impacted the global art scene with notable influence in Latam, as Devconnect showed. However, artists from around the world are using Ethereum to distribute their work, capturing the value they create. Similar to Argentina, India’s embrace of cryptocurrencies is primarily motivated by the search for alternative access to the global economy.
Rationale
The proposed Onchain Art Hub aims to create a space for artists and art enjoyers to showcase why Ethereum is important to them and their work. The main goal will be to facilitate coordination between local and global participants to ensure all voices have a chance to be heard. Art is about expression, and using our experience from last year’s Onchain Art Hub at Devconnect to continue to give local communities the ability to express themselves and their art with the global Ethereum community.
Audience
The Onchain Art Hub will be a home to musicians, painters, designers, digital artists, sculptors, and artists of all kinds. We want this space to be welcoming to everybody, a space where all voices can be heard, and a place to share first hand experiences regarding being an onchain culture creator. Our goal is not only to reach artists and art enjoyers, but to showcase to our beloved crypto community how important Ethereum is to artists in India and around the world.
