Hey everyone!

My name is ian aka forestkeeperio. I’m super excited to share an idea for a Mobile-Focused Community Hub at Devconnect 2025 in Buenos Aires (November 17th–22nd). The vision is to create an interactive space dedicated to exploring and building mobile apps—specifically for iOS, Android, and potentially XR/AR devices—to drive crypto adoption. Mobile users represent a massive, untapped market in web3, and I believe this niche could skyrocket Ethereum’s reach, especially in regions like Argentina where mobile usage is already high.

Why Mobile Matters for Bringing Argentina Onchain

Argentina is a global leader in Ethereum adoption, with people using stablecoins and blockchain for everyday needs like savings and payments. Mobile devices are the primary gateway for most users, yet web3 development for mobile platforms remains underexplored. By focusing on mobile dapps, we can:

  • Boost Financial Inclusion: Deliver DeFi tools to unbanked populations via their phones.
  • Support Local Use Cases: Build apps for remittances or local commerce, key needs in Latin America.
  • Enhance Accessibility: Make Ethereum usable on the devices people already own.

This hub would be a space where developers, designers, and enthusiasts collaborate to unlock mobile’s potential for web3, aligning with Devconnect’s “Ethereum World’s Fair” theme of showcasing real-world value.

What I’m Envisioning for the Mobile Hub

Here’s a rough outline of what the hub could offer:

  • Workshops: Hands-on sessions on building mobile dapps with frameworks like React Native or Flutter, tackling challenges like secure key management and offline functionality.
  • Talks: Experts sharing insights on mobile wallet security, user experience, and optimizing for low-end devices.
  • Panel Discussions: Conversations on the future of mobile in web3, featuring local and global perspectives.
  • Demos: A “Mobile Dapp Showcase” where developers present live apps and get feedback from attendees.
  • Mini-Hackathon: A coding challenge focused on solving a mobile blockchain problem, with prizes to spark creativity.

Road to Devconnect: Mobil3 Mexico City Hackathon

As a pilot, I’m organizing a hybrid mobile-focused hackathon in Mexico City ahead of Devconnect. This event will target exclusively Spanish-speaking developers, focusing on mobile dapps for iOS, Android, and beyond. It’ll be a mix of in-person and online participation, designed to build momentum for the Buenos Aires hub. I’m finalizing details with sponsors and will share more soon—stay tuned! This could be a perfect warm-up, with incentives for participants to join us at Devconnect.

Let’s Collaborate!

This is still a work in progress, so I’d love your feedback and ideas. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Developers: Interested in building or demoing a mobile dapp? Let’s showcase your work!
  • Designers/Product Managers: Want to shape the UX of mobile web3? Join us!
  • Sponsors: Mobile wallet providers, blockchain platforms, or XR/AR innovators—let’s partner up!
  • Attendees: Curious about mobile blockchain? Come learn and network!

A potential name could be “Mobil3 Hub” or “Onchain Mobile Experience”—thoughts?

Next Steps

I’ll refine this proposal based on your input and Devconnect’s upcoming Community Hub guidelines. For now, please share:

  • What do you think of this idea?
  • Would you participate or collaborate?
  • Any suggestions to make it even better?

Let’s bring the power of mobile to Devconnect Argentina and help make Buenos Aires a blueprint for Ethereum adoption worldwide!

Looking forward to hearing from you, lets build this all together, feel free to reach out here or via mail to: forestkeeperio@pm.me

Hi everyone, I’d like to propose we initiate Ethereum-based, local, participatory budgeting campaigns in Buenos Aires and other cities.

We at Muqa have built Zazelenimo exactly for this purpose.

Example

In our pilot in city of Split, Croatia, the campaign is run by municipal parks company and funded by the city government.

How it works

Citizens join the platform, propose projects, create Ethereum account, top up their wallet and vote in quadratic funding round. App is open source, intended for being forked and customised and deployed locally.

Goals

The main goals of this project would be to:

  • onboard as many citizens and governments to Ethereum,
  • help them do their first interaction with a smart contract (donating or getting funded),
  • showcase how Ethereum is useful beyond financial speculation of crypto,
  • get local community involved with Devconnect.

The proposal

We would be happy to work with Devconnect team, local Ethereum community members and builders, local NGOs, citizens, governments, institutions and others on getting it set up and running in Argentina during Devconnect and beyond.

As we approach Devconnect, the app could be extended with additional complementary features and integrations, eg. give every citizen an ENS subdomain. Additionally, at Devconnect, we could have a showcase of proposals which currently being voted on, are already funded, or even executed.

I believe this proposal is a great fit because it shows the power of Ethereum, is focused on Argentina and can be tied well with Devconnect.

What would you like to see? Im still reaching out to experts and protocols with this focus on mind so I can create a more detailed proposal

I would like to propose the “Events Community Hub”.

I think we need to give IRL events the glory they deserve and organizing a specific hub at Devcon would be great for this purpose.
Ethereum has been the greatest in putting a strong community together and this has been achieved also thanks to events.

At this hub, we could exchange ideas and discuss about all thing events with informal sessions and games about:

  • how to create value
  • how to measure success
  • how to onboard newbies

This could be done by inviting all the stakeholders:

  • invite events organizers to give their overview and the “behind the scenes”
  • projects who sponsor events: what are they looking for?
  • attendees: what do they expect and why the love to join events?

The current naming can be confusing, but +1 on this idea

Gm Devconnect fam,

I’m Ceci Sakura, Marketing & Communications Lead at Unlock DAO and former Project Manager at Ethereum Bolivia. I’d like to propose using Unlock Protocol as the onchain infrastructure for ticketing, certifications, memberships, and subscriptions at Devconnect 2025 in Buenos Aires.

As someone who led a local community with multiple Web3 events—including the second Ethereum Bolivia Buildathon, the biggest blockchain based buildathon in Bolivia—I’ve used Unlock Protocol extensively over the past two years to manage all access and credentialing needs. We issued NFT tickets to attendees (many of them total newcomers to Web3) and NFT-based certifications for hackers and contributors, all directly from our Unlock smart contracts.

Why did we choose Unlock?
Because it gave us full control and onchain transparency while remaining incredibly easy to use. Unlock allows us to:

  • Customize NFTs with personal data or any other that we would like to show (like names or nicknames) for each certificate.
  • Display those NFTs in wallets and marketplaces like OpenSea.
  • Airdrop credentials via email-only access, which makes onboarding simple—even for non-crypto-native users.
  • Track our event’s impact directly via Unlock Dashboards, with verifiable, onchain metrics for stakeholders and sponsors.

Now that I started working with Unlock DAO directly, I’ve seen firsthand how many other communities, DAOs, and event organizers are using it to run their operations permissionlessly, without giving up sovereignty or user data to centralized platforms.

If we want Devconnect 2025 to truly be the onchain event of the year, I believe Unlock Protocol can be a core tool to support that vision—from credentialing and community membership, to real-time data capture and transparent reporting.

I’m happy to support the implementation from all angles, including local coordination, onboarding, customization, and visibility—so Devconnect can become a model for permissionless event infrastructure in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Let’s make this happen :purple_heart:
— Ceci Sakura

Hey, I’m building a tool I think could be relevant for the Ethereum Worlds Fair. DappRank is a website that measures and ranks dapps based on their censorship resistance. It serves as a demonstration of what dapps are out there in the Ethereum ecosystem and as a way for attendees to learn about how secure those applications actually are.

Proposal for Onchain Art Hub at Devconnect

GM Devconnect fam

Kismet Casa, Newtro and MúsicaW3 would like to organize an Onchain Art Hub at Devconnect.

Summary
Onchain Art Hub is Devconnect’s artist focused community hub.

The proliferation of onchain art as a medium has profoundly impacted the global art scene, with notable influence in Latam, particularly in Argentina. Argentinian artists have been the first to embrace onchain technologies for its ability to connect them directly to a worldwide market, circumventing traditional middlemen, and ultimately establishing a more trustworthy system to distribute their work. This adoption mirrors the broader Argentine embrace of cryptocurrencies, primarily motivated by the search for alternative access to the global economy.

Rationale

The proposed Onchain Art Hub aims to underscore and celebrate the significant contributions of both Argentinian artists and artists from around the world to Ethereum culture. The hub will serve as a focal point for gathering diverse communities from across the globe, enhancing visibility for these artists and reinforcing their role as key cultural innovators within the Ethereum ecosystem.

The ENS team is excited about the vision for Devconnect 2025 in Buenos Aires, specifically the call to help bring ordinary Argentinians onchain with the Ethereum World Fair. ENS is more than just human-readable names; we’re building foundational identity and naming infrastructure for the decentralized web. Here’s how we want to contribute to the Ethereum World’s Fair and the broader effort in Argentina:

ENS names for all attendees

ENS is the naming layer of Ethereum—used by millions for wallet addresses, dapps, websites, smart contracts, and more. We’d love to participate with an interactive ENS station that:

  • Onboards attendees with .eth names in real-time. We could use a subnames to let visitors create an ENS name for free. Recent examples include https://devcon.id/ subnames at DevCon SEA and ETHDenver subnames for all attendees, powered by unicorn.eth.
  • Demonstrate ENS-powered identity in dapps (sign-ins, messaging with XMTP in wallets, DAO voting, etc.).

Community Hubs & Local Projects

We’d also be excited to help co-organize or support a Decentralized Identity Community Hub, where ENS can work alongside identity, reputation, and public goods funding projects. This space could showcase:

  • How onchain names and identities power ecosystem tools.
  • Governance use cases via ENS DAO.
  • Real-world adoption stories in Argentina.

We’re particularly interested in partnering with local teams to help governments, civil society, and businesses understand the role decentralized identity can play in giving individuals a single name to access all their financial services as well as the crypto ecosystem. Let us know in this forum if you know local teams looking to integrate ENS, especially fintech and banking apps already used by Argentinians for stablecoin remittances and payments.

Proposal: Regen Hub at Devconnect 2025 – Buenos Aires

This proposal outlines a comprehensive plan for the Regen Hub at Devconnect 2025 in Buenos Aires, building on the success and learnings from our previous hubs at Devcon Bogotá (2022) and Devcon Bangkok (2024).

We’re excited to bring this community-driven, locally rooted and globally connected experience to Latin America once again—this time to Argentina, a region rich with social innovation, grassroots action, and web3 experimentation.

Summary of Proposal

The Regen Hub is a welcoming and inclusive space within Devcon that fosters connection, collaboration, and education around regenerative approaches in web3. It centers local voices and initiatives, encourages deep dialogue, and builds bridges between global Ethereum builders and Latin American changemakers.

At Devconnect Buenos Aires, the Regen Hub will reflect the vibrant Argentinian spirit of resilience and innovation, while holding space for global collaboration and reflection on the role of Ethereum in regenerating social, ecological, and economic systems.

Motivation and Rationale

How would this community hub enhance attendee experience?

The Regen Hub provides a unique space for slowing down, connecting deeply, and exploring meaningfully. It complements the technical focus of Devconnect with human-centered programming that emphasizes place-based solutions, systemic thinking, and the power of community.

How would this complement the main programme at Devconnect?

Devconnect’s decentralized format makes it ideal for a persistent community hub that attendees can return to throughout the week. The Regen Hub acts as an anchor point for ongoing conversations, spontaneous connections, and co-creation between diverse actors—from grassroots organizers to protocol developers.

Why is a hub the best format for this?

Regenerative work thrives in spaces of intimacy, trust, and continuity. Rather than one-off talks or panels, the hub provides an immersive experience where attendees can engage in roundtables, facilitated sessions, and emergent discussions. Our experience in Bogotá and Bangkok has shown that this format leads to lasting relationships and concrete collaborations.

Legal Community Hub Proposal

Short Description of the Topic/Cause

The Legal Community Hub will serve as a dedicated space for legal professionals, scholars, and enthusiasts to explore the intersection of blockchain technology and law. This hub will foster meaningful discussions, knowledge-sharing, and networking opportunities tailored for those interested in legal frameworks, governance models, and regulatory developments in Web3. By providing a welcoming and intellectually stimulating environment, we aim to bridge the gap between the legal and blockchain communities, empowering legal practitioners to navigate the evolving digital landscape.

Motivation and Rationale

Last year, at Devcon, various hubs emerged to foster focused conversations around topics like governance, community building, and protocol development. However, one area that remained underrepresented was the legal dimension of Web3. Last year’s Devcon saw strong interest and engagement around legal topics, but lacked a dedicated space to continue and deepen those conversations.

The Legal Community Hub is a response to that clear demand. This initiative is led by participants of the 2024 Devcon Legal Scholars program —a group of legal scholars and practitioners who experienced firsthand the value of that opportunity. Inspired by the impact it had on their professional growth and the meaningful discussions it sparked, they now seek to give back to the community by contributing to and enriching the legal discourse in Web3.

This hub builds on that momentum to create a dedicated platform for legal minds to gather, share knowledge, and co-create the future of blockchain law. It is rooted in the belief that the legal layer of Web3 deserves as much attention and innovation as its technical and governance layers.

By providing a space where legal professionals and blockchain experts can collaborate, we aim to foster interdisciplinary dialogue that addresses key challenges such as the uncertain regulatory landscape, the enforceability of smart contracts, and the implications of decentralized governance models.

Through panels, debates, and interactive workshops, participants will gain practical tools to navigate the evolving relationship between law and blockchain. This hub not only amplifies legal voices within the Ethereum ecosystem but also contributes to the development of more robust, inclusive, and forward-thinking legal frameworks for the decentralized world.

Outline of Offerings to Devconnect Attendees

The Legal Community Hub will maximize its space by offering:

  • Panel Discussions & Debates: Engaging sessions featuring legal scholars, practitioners, and industry experts.
  • Workshops: Practical sessions to explore legal frameworks, compliance strategies, and decentralized governance models.
  • Networking Opportunities: Facilitated interactions between legal professionals, developers, and entrepreneurs.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Open forums for legal debates, case studies, and policy discussions.
  • Collaboration Opportunities: Connecting Devconnect attendees with legal professionals to foster interdisciplinary projects.

Community Hub Program & Opening Hours

The Legal Community Hub will be open during the main venue’s operating hours. The planned program includes:

Proposed Topics for Discussions & Debates

  1. Regulatory Trends in Blockchain and Crypto
  • Updates from jurisdictions worldwide
  • The impact of MiCA, EUCI, and other global frameworks
  • Legal implications of smart contracts and DAOs
  • How to build your project on LATAM? Which regulations should you consider?
  1. Decentralized Dispute Resolution & On-Chain Governance
  • The role of blockchain-based arbitration (e.g., Kleros)
  • Legal enforceability of on-chain rulings
  • Self-regulatory models vs. traditional regulatory compliance
  1. The Future of Legal Education in the Age of Web3
  • How blockchain can transform legal education and research
  • The role of AI in legal tech and contract analysis
  1. Growth of Legal Frameworks for Web3 & DeFi
  • The evolving role of legal professionals in Web3 startups
  • DeFi regulations and compliance strategies
  1. Legal Risks & Challenges in Blockchain Development
  • Privacy and data protection (GDPR, cross-border concerns)
  • Intellectual property rights in NFTs and tokenized assets

Proposal Overview – Interactive Debate Space

The core objective of this space is to foster meaningful dialogue and collective reflection among attendees. Designed as an open and inclusive forum, the setup encourages active participation rather than passive listening.

At the center of the experience is a moderator, who will introduce a key topic or question to the group. Rather than delivering a traditional presentation, the moderator’s role is to facilitate and guide the discussion, inviting the audience to share their views, experiences, and perspectives.

Participants will be seated in a “U”-shaped layout to promote eye contact, openness, and fluid conversation. The format is intentionally flexible to adapt to the tone and depth of each discussion.

This setup transforms the space into a collaborative environment, ideal for:

  • Generating constructive debates
  • Exploring diverse viewpoints
  • Building community through dialogue
  • Encouraging critical thinking and civic engagement

While the exchange may naturally lead to some form of shared conclusion or takeaway, this is not a rigid requirement. The true value lies in the process of listening, expressing, and reflecting together.

Event Structure – Week of Dialogue & Debate

Dates: November 17–22
Format: Two debate blocks per day (Morning & Afternoon), Monday through Thursday.
Friday: Collective session to revisit the most impactful topics and facilitate a concluding discussion.

Each session will be structured as an interactive forum, opened by a moderator and centered around contributions from participants. The format promotes open dialogue, cross-disciplinary input, and exploration of practical challenges.

Monday, November 17 – Foundations of Decentralization

Morning Session: Understanding DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations).
Exploring governance models, decision-making frameworks, legal personhood, and challenges of collective ownership. What happens when organizations no longer have a central authority?

Friday, November 21 – Collective Reflection & Final Synthesis

Closing Session: The Most Relevant Topic – Revisited
Based on participant input throughout the week, we will reconvene to address the topic that sparked the most engagement and debate. The aim is to dive deeper, capture insights, and—if possible—arrive at shared principles or open questions that merit further exploration.

Proposed Guest Speakers & Contributors

  • Devcon Legal Scholars (2024 Cohort)
  • EUCI Representatives

Closing Statement – Why We’re the Right Team for This Hub

At a time when Web3 is reshaping not only technology but also governance, finance, and civil structures, the Legal Community Hub emerges as an essential space within Devconnect—one designed to bring clarity, structure, and long-term vision to the decentralized ecosystem.

What sets this proposal apart is not only the depth of the topics we’ve curated, but the unique approach we bring to the table:

  • A highly participatory, dynamic, and inclusive format that transforms legal debate into a collaborative experience.
  • A diverse and intergenerational team of organizers with deep roots in both the legal and blockchain communities, ready to bridge worlds and foster understanding.
  • A carefully selected list of speakers and thought leaders, bringing credibility, regional relevance, and fresh insights to every session.

We are here to listen, guide, connect and co-create the legal foundations Web3 needs to grow and thrive. From decentralized governance to regulatory frameworks, from digital identity to tokenized assets—this Hub is where legal innovation meets community intelligence.

Choosing us means choosing a team with:

  • Proven passion and field experience.
  • A commitment to neutral, non-promotional dialogue in a space that often lacks clarity.
  • The capability to execute professionally and inclusively, on every level—from technical production to content curation.

In a landscape that urgently needs legal clarity and cross-disciplinary conversation, we are ready to lead that conversation—together with the global Devconnect community.

Let’s build the legal infrastructure Web3 deserves.
