Introduction
Following the positive experience and feedback from Devcon SEA 7, Community Hubs are back in full swing for Devconnect Argentina and the first Ethereum World’s Fair ¡Vamos!
These physical spaces within the Devconnect venue are shaped by community groups to spotlight specific Ethereum topics through conversation, collaboration, and creativity.
Devconnect ARG is both a showcase of Ethereum apps and a space to connect, build, and accelerate real-world adoption. This year, we’re especially excited about proposals that reflect this spirit through their chosen topics, programming, and unique approach.
Possible Community Hubs formats include: community-driven conversations, ideation sessions, app-building workshops, founder support, user research and feedback sessions, UX improvements and community building, all focused on how can we build real-world Ethereum applications that serve and support the proposed topic through the communities’ shared knowledge.
Description
At their core, Community Hubs are dedicated spaces where selected communities bring a specific Ethereum topic to life. They are curated and, to some extent, independently organized by community groups with expertise in the chosen topic.
By designing and hosting their own programming, Community Hubs help shape the overall experience of Devconnect, making it more decentralized, inclusive, and grounded in Ethereum’s community spirit.
Think of them as informational hubs that complement the main Devconnect program by offering spaces where attendees can stop by, ask questions, connect across domains with other communities, and explore new areas of Ethereum!
Most importantly, these spaces must not promote any single project or initiative through branding or marketing; they must remain strictly educational.
Activities that can take place in Community Hubs include (but are not limited to) are:
- Hosting office hours
- Organizing discussion roundtables
- Sharing informational and interactive learning materials
- Holding impromptu sessions for open conversation and networking
These are initial ideas but it’s up to you, as community builders, to get creative!
Below are some examples of Community Hubs that were selected for Devcon SEA 7. Let them inspire you as you prepare your application:
Account Abstraction Hub
Join forces to advance the Account Abstraction (AA) ecosystem, from SDKs and wallets to protocol standards like ERC-4337. Expect informal discussions and guided demos by AA experts, offering insights into how Account Abstraction can streamline user onboarding and enhance the Ethereum experience while staying true to its core values.
Adoption Hub
A space for designers, researchers, and marketers to collaborate on driving Web3 adoption. This hub will feature workshops, mentoring, and UX audits focused on overcoming adoption challenges. You’ll walk away with actionable strategies to boost user trust, engagement, and community building in decentralized tech.

Engage in discussions and workshops focused on putting Ethereum’s core principles into practice, offering a hands-on exploration of its social impact and potential for change.
Home Operators Hub
Focused on supporting home node operators and validators, this hub offers one-on-one troubleshooting, workshops, and discussions. Learn about running nodes with less than 32 ETH, privacy practices, and accessible staking solutions to help decentralize the Ethereum network.
Regen Hub
Connect with builders focused on regenerative projects and sustainability within the Ethereum ecosystem. Discuss local empowerment, explore global regenerative initiatives, and learn how Ethereum can foster positive community impact.
Sustaining Open-Source Development Hub
Explore the challenges and opportunities of open-source development in Ethereum. Discuss business models, developer engagement, and collaboration with the broader open-source community, and discover strategies to sustain open-source public goods within the ecosystem.
The World of DeSci Hub
Learn about the decentralized science (DeSci) movement and how Web3 technologies are transforming science into a public good. Engage with global DeSci communities, explore new tools, and collaborate to reshape the scientific landscape using Ethereum.
Women in Web3 World (W3) Hub
An inclusive space for women and allies to network, learn, and engage in conversations about diversity and inclusion in Web3. Participate in workshops, fireside chats, and wellness sessions, fostering collaboration and empowerment for women in the Ethereum ecosystem.
The above ideas are for inspiration and reference, but we welcome new and novel communities to apply as well.
Requirements
All Community Hubs must follow the Community Hub guidelines:
- Should be dedicated to and centered around one specific cause or topic related to Ethereum.
- Must be driven by communities rather than a specific project or company.
- Must be free of marketing and branding, no shilling of tokens or promotion of specific projects.
- No fluff, no hype, original and educational content only.
- Should have a tech-driven approach to building real applications with and for communities.
- Must offer real value to attendees and be 100% accessible to all Devconnect participants.
- Must be staffed by the organizing team during the main conference hours (Nov 17–22, roughly 9 a.m.–6 p.m.).
- Organizers need to be available to prepare the space at least the day before the event begins.
Integration with local Latin American and Argentinian communities, is a plus!
Production
We anticipate approximately 14 areas will be available, though the final number may vary based on the specific space requirements and scale of accepted initiatives. Each accepted facilitator and organizer team will receive up to 10 Devconnect ARG tickets free of charge.
Devconnect will provide a standard set-up for each hub, including essential furniture and AV equipment:
- Limited number of chairs or seating options
- Power outlets
- Whiteboards
- Possibly desks
- TV-screen
- 1 Ethernet cable (20/20 mbps)
Additional features will be confirmed closer to the event as detailed logistics are defined.
Beyond these items, community organizers are free to freely customize the space as they see fit while following the guidelines. However please note, Community Hubs should always complement and support Devconnect’s official programming.
Get Involved
Prepare a proposal
If you want to apply for a community space, open a discussion that details it specifically in the Community Hub category of this forum. The proposal will need to be in compliance with our Code of Conduct, and include the following:
- Description of what your Community Hub is going to be centered on
- Clear specification of what it will offer to the Devconnect attendees, and how you will make best use of the space
- Sample programme planned for the operating hours of the Community Hub. This does not need to be the final one, but a first draft which can be used as a basis to begin discussions
- List of dedicated people that will organize and be fully responsible for the Community Hub
- Specific items that your Community Hub needs from the Devconnect organizers
- Indicate if any sessions or content will be offered in Spanish
Ready to apply?
Use this template to craft your Community Hub proposal, and then post it in the Community Hubs category on the forum.
IMPORTANT: If you’ve already posted your proposal in the Community Hubs section, well done! There’s no need to post a new one, just edit your current post and update it to follow the structure of the template.
Also, if you’ve posted your proposal in RFP 10 - Devconnect 2025: Help bringing Argentina onchain, please create a new post using this template, in the Community Hubs category so it can have its own thread open for discussion. Thank you!
Join the Discussion
Even if you don’t have a specific idea to present or won’t be actively organizing a Community Hubs yourself, we highly encourage everyone to participate in discussions by sharing their thoughts and feedback on the submitted proposals, as well as on the overall concept and execution of Community Hubs.
To start and get familiar with the process, head over to the Community Hubs category of the forum, and check out the proposals that are already being shared.
Always be mindful of our code of conduct when joining the discussion
RFP Process and Deadlines
- The RFP is open until August 31, across all time zones.
- Selected proposals will be announced in mid-September, followed by a collaborative phase to fine-tune each Hub’s concept, programming, and production needs.
Creative Concept
Here are past examples of Community Hubs at Devcon SEA 7. Please note that, the design and location of each Community Hub are subject to change, but can be used as a reference to visualize how Community Hubs are intended to look.
The space will be around 80 square meters with chairs for about 40 people to sit and chat in the hub.
We can’t wait to see the creativity and care you’ll bring to this year’s Community Hubs!
Together we’re on a mission to Bring Argentina Onchain!
